Who are we?
ROCKET is developed by CustomSoft Australia Pty Ltd, a specialist in the design, development and support of professional business software packages for the importing, distribution, wholesale, retail, and point-of-sale and point-of-hire software for DVD/Video/Games rental and retail stores. Established in 1981, we're based in Sydney, Australia, and have sold our software throughout Australia and New Zealand, and in South Africa, Canada, UK, Asia and the Pacific.
Our highly-successful VIDEOMINDER video store management software was initiated at the very beginnings of the burgeoning video rental industry, in the early 1980s, and its resulting popularity led to it becoming the most widely-used and video group-preferred video store management software package in Australia and New Zealand. Some 2,500 copies were sold to users in 13 countries.
ROCKET is the Windows-based successor to VIDEOMINDER, and has been developed to cater for the many changes in the DVD/Video/Games rental and retail industry – and to enable users to move beyond the limitations of older-style DOS formats.
We have our own programming, technical and customer support specialists, who've spent thousands of hours supporting our customers, setting up their systems and working alongside them. Support for all of our software packages is provided directly from our service centre in Sydney (in major overseas markets this service is provided by our authorised resellers), where our team of Help Desk professionals is available to assist users. For ROCKET, support is available 24 hours/7 days.
What is Rocket?
Combining CustomSoft's long experience of the DVD/Video/Games rental and retail industry with the capabilities of 32-bit technology, ROCKET offers many new features of increasing importance to DVD/video/games stores - keyboard or mouse use, touch screens, email, direct marketing, SMS texting, centralised data uploads, etc.
It also means far greater flexibility for growth and specialist plug-in modules, and much better use of the Windows family of features and drivers, such as easy interfacing to Microsoft Office products, other third party software, modern peripherals, email. The SQL 2000 database engine has the potential to accommodate extremely large databases.
ROCKET is both a point-of-sale and point-of-hire system - retail only or rental and retail only - and purchase and sales details for each rental and stock item can be reported for any date ranges by numerous criteria, as data is never lost or deleted.
ROCKET is designed around a core module that acts as a backbone or skeleton system. A series of modules are then plugged into this backbone to provide the program’s functionality. This allows us to easily build add-on or replacement modules to plug into the program.
Thus, ROCKET can grow and adapt with your organisation; so, if a DVD/Video/Games rental and retail group wishes to exploit a new marketing opportunity, provide more sophisticated loyalty schemes, or track customer behaviour more closely, the existing modules can be extended or replaced as needed.
